Thank you to Lake Shore Baptist Church

From all of us at PfP we would like say a huge thanks to the  for raising $730!! We so appreciate all the gifts and donations we receive, but when it involves kids and the kind of service project, education and generosity that were described in their letter to us, it goes beyond the usual level of gratitude that we feel.

Check out their wonderful letter below –

Each year the children of Lake Shore Baptist Church collect pledges and participate in a Bike-a-thon around the back lot of the church. The money raised benefits a pre-selected mission project which the children learn about in the weeks prior to the Bike-a-thon.

Since we at Lake Shore value childhood and outdoor play, and were fortunate enough to give our own playground a major facelift, it seemed fitting to show our gratitude by helping other children with the most important task of childhood: play.

We learned about your agency through a friend of our Associate Pastor who has traveled in the Gaza Strip and is particularly interested in peace and justice issues in this region. When she shared your mission with me, it seemed so very appropriate to share with the children of our church. They enthusiastically embraced it and put their hearts into raising money to give children they will never meet the opportunity to run, climb, and play on safe, quality equipment.

Enclosed you will find a check in the amount of $730.57. Please use this money for the purchase or installation of playground equipment. God bless you for all you are doing to further Gods kingdom on earth.

Life and light,

Rachel S
Minister to Children

Thank You!

PfP’s 2018 annual gala was fabulous.  Thank you to all of our patrons, volunteers, honored guests, UPenn facility staff, and Manakeesh (caterer), who made the evening what it was.

Play, while it cannot change the external realities of children’s lives, can be a vehicle for children to explore and enjoy their differences and similarities and to create, even for a brief time, a more just world where everyone is an equal and valued participant.
